My 3 Commitments To You As Secretary Of State

As the Secretary of State, I promise to strengthen election security, improve the business climate, and restore voter confidence in Nevada’s elections in three ways my opponent will not:

  1. Implement and enforce a voter identification requirement in Ballot Question 7 without any qualifications. It is so important to elect someone who can actually be trusted to do this.

  2. Introduce legislation to reduce Nevada business license fees to make business affordable again and increase economic competitiveness with other states.

  3. Introduce legislation to repeal Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) by strengthening the security of voter rolls.

1. Implementation and Enforcement of Voter Identification: With the overwhelming approval of Nevada voters, Question 7 Voter ID passed in 2024 and will pass again in 2026. My opponent has said this Constitutional law will be implemented “responsibly.” That is a blue-sky qualification that attempts to go around the precise language of the law. I will implement and enforce the new law as it is written without qualification.

The measure requires voters to present a valid photo ID when voting in person and to verify identity when voting by mail. Thirty-six U.S. states require or request voter ID in some form to prevent duplicate voting, impersonation, and administrative errors in voter verification. A 2024 Gallup poll found 84% of Americans support photo ID requirements for voting. Election legitimacy depends not only on secure procedures but also on public perception of fairness and transparency.

2. I will introduce a bill to reduce the state business license fee: Reducing the state business license fee. My opponent has never fought for tax reductions or caps. I have and I will!

Nevada’s economy relies heavily on small and medium-sized enterprises. However, regulatory costs can discourage entrepreneurship and business expansion. Lowering licensing costs can make business affordable again in Nevada. Economic research consistently shows that lower regulatory and licensing costs increase business formation rates. Lower fees reduce the upfront financial risk associated with starting a business and allow more resources for hiring employees, investing in equipment, and expanding operations.

States compete for investment, talent, and new companies. Reducing licensing costs signals that Nevada remains a business-friendly environment and encourages economic diversification beyond tourism and gaming.

3. I will introduce a bill to repeal Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) by repealing Nevada statutes establishing automatic voter registration agencies, requiring individuals to actively opt in to voter registration. My opponent has no experience getting laws passed in the legislature especially against a resistant majority. I have and I will again.

Nevada implemented Automatic Voter Registration after voters approved a 2018 ballot initiative, which took effect in 2020. Under current law, individuals conducting transactions with the Department of Motor Vehicles or certain government agencies are automatically registered to vote unless they opt out. The system was expanded in 2021 to include additional agencies beyond the DMV.

The unintended consequences of this law and its expansion have led to individuals being added to the voter rolls without a clear intent to register.

It has increased the workload of County Clerks and Registrars who must follow-up on these registrations to make sure that those added to the rolls, intended to register. Maintaining accurate voter rolls is a critical component of election administration. Intentional Voluntary registration reduces the likelihood of administrative errors associated with automated data transfers.Automatic voter registration relies on transferring data between agencies that were not originally designed for election administration. This can increase the complexity of record management and create opportunities for data discrepancies. Returning to voluntary registration allows election officials to maintain more precise oversight of the voter registration process.

Nevada stands at an important moment for reform. By electing me as Secretary of State to keep my promises to strengthen election verification, reduce the business license fees, and repeal automatic voter registration, the state can enhance public trust, economic growth, and government accountability.

Sharron Angle For Nevada Secretary of State

This battle just got a lot more complicated. With the money Cisco Aguilar is lining up, Voter I.D. is in real danger. Regardless of how Nevada votes in November for Voter I.D., it still requires a Secretary of State to enforce it and a Nevada Attorney General to prosecute those who violate the law. Without these two important offices held by people who Nevadans can trust, there is No Voter I.D. even if it passes in November. That is the real danger of Voter I.D. never happening in Nevada, nobody will enforce it and they will pretend it does not exist.

Unless we repeat the message as many times as possible so they never forget, the danger is real. We absolutely need you in this fight, now is the time to really push our issue, Voter I.D., in this race. Here is the TV spot we are currently running, thanks to you! While you are there, if you are on YouTube, please subscribe to my new campaign channel, hit like if you support Voter I.D., and turn on notifications.

Now is the time to really push our message out to voters, there are so many different campaigns and issues going on in the world, it is essential that we stay top of mind to make this work.
